Since the dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago, life has evolved in many different ways and most of these animals are also now extinct. By the time of the last Ice Age, 2.4 million years ago, mammals had come to dominance. Many are now extinct too, but their relatives live on, like the elephant, rhinoceros, sloth, grey wolf and armadillo.
